Nurture Massage Therapy & Wellness

Integrated Sessions are designed to meet the unique holistic needs of each client. Therapy is tailored to address physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual concerns. A variety of massage and bodywork techniques are utilized to achieve optimal results. Techniques may include Swedish Massage, Myofascial Release, Deep Tissue, Craniosacral, Orthopedic, Neuromuscular, Lymph Drainage, Hot Stone, Active Isolated Stretching, and Reiki among others. Sessions allow time for discussion, reflection, symptom management, and health and wellness coaching in a safe, supportive, relaxing environment.

Integrated Massage Therapy

Integrated sessions for oncology clients focus on providing comprehensive therapeutic interventions that holistically address physical, psychological, emotional, psychosocial, and spiritual concerns. Massage and bodywork is safely adapted for each client situation to account for the effects of surgery, chemotherapy, radiation, and other treatments as well as the disease. Extensive education and symptom management support is provided. Massage and bodywork techniques typically used include Swedish Massage, Lymphatic Drainage, Craniosacral Therapy, Reflexology, Myofascial Release, and Reiki.

Integrated Oncology Massage Therapy

Hot Stone Therapy is an adaptation of Swedish massage where heated Basalt stones are placed at specific sites on your body to deepen relaxation and promote circulation in your muscles. Muscles that are heated with these stones release tension and stress much more deeply and quickly than with a traditional massage. Same excellent service but with more treatment time.

Hot Stone Massage

Raindrop Technique is a powerfully relaxing method of aromatherapy application using therapeutic grade essential oils. The technique was developed by D. Gary Young (Young Living Essential Oils) in the 1980s based on Native American traditions. It combines several modalities to bring balance and transformation to the body supporting it on a physical and emotional level. Using light feathering touch the oils are gently dropped (simulating rain drops) and systematically applied to the neck, spine, and feet. The session is very relaxing and grounding. Young Living Essential Oils are used.

Raindrop Technique

Craniosacral Therapy is a light touch therapy that aims to balance the nervous system using the bones of the head (cranium) and tailbone (sacrum) to release restrictions in the dural tube of the spinal cord and enhance the body's ability to self-correct. This gentle modality is deeply relaxing and is excellent for anxiety, stress, trauma, headaches, neck pain, TMJ, and a host of other issues. Developed by osteopathic physician John Upledger, DO this therapy provides a very soothing and relaxing healing experience.

CranioSacral Therapy

Manual Lymph Drainage is a relaxing rhythmic massage that uses light touch to stimulate the lymphatic system and move and drain lymph fluid from the tissues into circulation, thereby reducing edema, relieving pressure and enhancing the functioning of the immune system. Lymphatic Drainage can be used for a wide range of purposes. Most commonly, MLD is used in the treatment of lymphedema that results from cancer related surgery or radiation. In addition to treatment of lymphedema, manual lymphatic drainage can aid in faster recovery from surgery or injuries.

Manual Lymph Drainage

Includes Manual Lymphatic Drainage and Complete Decongestive Therapy. Session comprised of measuring/monitoring, skin care, extensive education, symptom management, MLD, compression bandaging, remedial exercises, garment fitting, health coaching, emotional support, care coordination, and referrals as needed. Manual Lymph Drainage is a light touch technique that moves lymph and stimulates the lymphatic system to work. Lymphedema Therapy is composed of two phases. Phase I aims to decrease swelling. This is intensive therapy for 5 days per week for 2 or more weeks. Phase II is maintenance.

Complete Decongestive Therapy - Includes MLD

Reiki is a Japanese form of energy work that cleanses and balances the energy system in the body. As a result, the body's natural self-healing mechanisms strengthen, helping to establish optimum health. Reiki utilizes a gentle laying on of hands to conduct energy. Sometimes this may be accomplished without touching the body. A session is typically conducted fully clothed while lying on a comfortable massage table, however, Reiki can be incorporated into any type of bodywork session. The benefits of Reiki range from the release of habitual mental/emotional stress to alleviating chronic pain.

Health & Wellness Coaching

Ease tired, sore feet into a beautiful bowl filled with warm water. Small polished river rocks are placed on the bottom of each bowl to provide a natural way for the reflex points on the bottoms of the feet to be stimulated. Soaking the feet in warm water helps to hydrate the tissue, relax the muscles, ligaments and tendons, and absorb the therapeutic properties of salts, oils or teas that can be added to the foot soak. A relaxing reflexology session follows.

Foot Soak with Reflexology

The therapeutic heat of warm paraffin treatments rejuvenate, hydrate and nourish skin making it silky soft. This penetrating heat is especially good for arthritic joints. Your hands or feet will be immersed in warm paraffin, then warm mitts or booties will be slipped over your hands or feet to improve heat retention. A mini hand or foot massage follows.

Paraffin Dip

Aromatherapy is the use of plant material and plant oils to enhance or alter physical or psychological health and wellbeing. Therapeutic grade essential oils are carefully selected and custom blended to work synergistically to increase health. Essential Oils are added to enhance relaxation and treatment effects. Only 100% Therapeutic Grade, high quality oils are used. May be diffused or applied topically. Each oil or blend is chosen to meet your needs. Aromatherapy is a complimentary service.
